Course Overview
This refresher course meets the requirements of Industry Quality Assurance Programs to show currency of chemical training. This course meets Duty of Care under the OHS Act 2004, ensuring people are up to date will all safety aspects related to AgVet chemical use.
This course is aimed at people who have previously completed the full farm chemical course. It will ensure learners have up-to-date legislation, label changes, a reminder about personal safety, and other important issues that have occurred since the initial course was completed.
What participants will experience in this course:
- Current legislation
- Weed, pests and disease
- Chemical handling and disposal
- Application and spraying
- Storage, emergencies and first aid
To enter into this course, applicants need to have completed the Full Farm Chemical course or Skill Set AHCSS00074. All participants will be provided with a copy of the latest Aus Chem Manual. On-campus learners are required to wear long pants, a shirt, and work boots.
This is non-accredited training. When students complete this course, they will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Studying during COVID-19 Restrictions
During COVID‐19 lockdown periods, this course will have the majority of the training delivered using online methods of teaching and communication while students engage from home with their trainers. Any required practical components of the course will be moved to a more appropriate time later in the year.

Additionally some courses require students to purchase or supply text

information session or during the pre-training review Interview.
