There are a lot of things you need to remember as a student, but memorising key dates isn't one of them! Refer to the list below for all the important dates in the calendar year, including semester dates, mid-term breaks, release of results and more.

Please note courses can have various start and end dates, but the general term dates are as follows.
Term 1: Tuesday 28 January - Friday 4 April
Term 2: Monday 22 April - Friday 4 July
Term 3: Monday 21 July - Friday 19 September
Term 4: Monday 6 October - Friday 19 December
Victorian school holidays
Term 1 holidays: Friday 4 April to Tuesday 22 April
Term 2 holidays: Friday 4 July – Monday 21 July
Term 3 holidays: Friday 19 September – Monday 6 October
Term 4 holidays: Friday 19 December – Tuesday 27 January 2026
Public holidays
GOTAFE campuses will be closed for the following public holidays in 2025:
Monday 10 March – Labour Day
Friday 18 April – Good Friday
Monday 21 April – Easter Monday
Friday 25 April - Anzac Day
Monday 9 June – King's Birthday
Friday 26 September* - AFL Grand Final Holiday
