Attendance & commitment

General public blended delivery | 2 days course length & pre-learning | Part-time study load

Students are expected to:

  • Attend an online induction webinar 2 weeks prior to attending practical sessions.
  • Complete all online pre-learning before attending practical days.
  • Attend 2 consecutive days (Mon-Tues) on campus at the Shepparton William Orr Campus (9am - 4pm).

Entry requirements

GOTAFE entry requirements

Students must be over the age of 16 years to enrol in this course.

Information for applicants

Students will learn about the components, controls and features of SXSUV and their functions. The practical training will develop active riding techniques on a range of surfaces and terrains.

All training will be conducted under Worksafe Regulations and Codes of Practice.

When undertaking practical assessment for this course:

  • No riders under 16 years of age.
  • Individuals must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Individuals must not be taking any medication (prescribed or otherwise) that may impair judgement.

Student resources

Students must have:

  • Work boots & long pants.
  • Access to digital camera or video camera for visual and audio assessment tasks.
  • General stationery (Pens, pencils, rulers)

  6. Welcome to GOTAFE – We’ll finalise your enrolment and share everything you need to feel ready. You may be asked to attend an online or in person induction session where we’ll outline the support available to you from day one.

Skills recognition / Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Skills Recognition is an assessment only process that may result in credits towards a part or full qualification. There is no formal training involved, although you may choose to complete further training as a result of the assessment process.

You can apply for Skills Recognition before you enrol in the qualification you are seeking. You can apply for Skills Recognition through one or both of the following processes:

  • Credit Transfer for formal training that might be equivalent to a new qualification or partial qualification.
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for people who have relevant and current skills and knowledge that they have gained through non-formal or informal learning i.e. work or life experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) does not apply to non-accredited short courses.
