Update 23 March 2020
Firstly I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate this rapidly evolving situation.
It is important to note that currently there are no cases of COVID-19 at GOTAFE and minimal impact to our operations. This means that GOTAFE will continue to operate in delivering training to our students in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines.
The health and wellbeing of our students, staff and communities is our primary concern, along with deliviering quality education. We continue to remain vigilant to the potential risk to our staff, students and community and we are liaising with the Department of Education and Training (DET) to ensure that we are receiving the most up to date information available.
While there remains NO confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases at GOTAFE, we understand and support students who wish to make their own decisions about self-isolating and as a result cease attending face to face classes. Ultimately this is your decision, and I want to reassure you that if you do not attend classes there will be no negative consequences.
As this situation continues to unfold, there are likely to be a range of training and assessment milestones that may need to be delayed. I want to reassure you that we will do everything possible to assist you to complete any classes or assesments you may have missed.
If you would like to discuss your attendance or you have any other questions then I encourage you to please contact your trainer
We are also updating our GOTAFE website with the latest information, FAQ’s and student updates
Thank you for your understanding as we work together through these unprecedented times. We will continue to communicate with you all as the situation evolves and provide regular updates to all staff and students.
Stay healthy and look after one another.
Kind regards
Travis Heeney
CEO
