The health and safety of our students, staff and entire GOTAFE community remains our highest priority as we continue to navigate these challenging times.
Over the last week GOTAFE has announced a series of measures to respond to the COVID-19 situation. As you know we made the decision earlier this week to pause on-campus education delivery until Tuesday 14 April to support social distancing efforts.
I understand that GOTAFE trainers have been in contact with their students to discuss remote education delivery and support arrangements during this time.
We are working to minimise any disruption to your education and I want to reassure you that we will do anything possible to assist you in completing classes and assessments.
We are also in the process of preparing a range of initiatives to support you over coming weeks including:
- Remote student support service options
- Financial support arrangements to support students experiencing hardship
- Additional online engagement tools
I want to confirm that there remains no cases of COVID-19 at GOTAFE.
GOTAFE continues to operate while face-to-face education delivery has been paused.
We have been advised that a student from the Fryers Street Shepparton campus had a family member who has tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday 24 March. The family was already in self-isolation when the case was confirmed.
As a precautionary measure, any students or staff who were in close contact with the student have been notified and are following advice from the government and health authorities. GOTAFE has implemented increased cleaning regimes across all campuses this week and the Fryers Street campus is safe to remain open at this time.
Supporting your training
We are developing a range of remote learning options for training delivery.
To assist us with this planning please click here to complete a short survey aimed at identifying the details of your device and internet connection status.
Over the coming weeks your trainer will follow the class timetable using remote learning. Your trainer will communicate with you in various ways which may include video conferencing, phone and emails.
Library and Bookshop update
The Shepparton Library and Bookshop have moved to remote delivery until 14 April 2020. The Library will not be lending any materials out during this time. Library services are available via online access, email and phone.
GOTAFE staff and students can access a full range of online resources via the library website.
Please be assured that any items that may have been due during this period will not be due until we reopen.

Most municipal public libraries, including the Wangaratta Public Library, are closed until further notice.
