Attendance & commitment

General public face-to-face delivery | 2 days course length | Part-time study load

Students are expected to:

Attend two consecutive days (9:00am – 4:00pm) of practical training at the William Orr Campus.
Actively participate in all practical activities including tool use, post installation, wire work, and safety demonstrations.
Engage with online resources in goLearn between Day 1 and Day 2 to reinforce learning.
Apply safe work practices at all times, including correct PPE use (supplied on site).
Seek clarification from trainers during the course if required to ensure confidence in applying skills.

Entry requirements

To be selected for this course, students must:

Be physically capable to work outdoors.

Student resources

Students must have:

Work boots
Sunscreen
Appropriate clothing for working outdoors.
Water (drink bottle) & food as access to classroom is provided only during breaks (out on farm for majority of the day).
General stationary (pens, pencils, rulers).

GOTAFE will provide the following PPE for use during practical sessions:

Hi-vis vests
Gloves
Safety glasses.

Contingent Study Arrangements
