Whether it’s overcoming learning barriers or working through mental health issues, our Student Success Team are here to help. We want to help you make the most of your education experience at GOTAFE, and understand that life can sometimes get in the way.
Our Student Success Team is made up of two teams - Student Wellbeing and Student Experience. Our dedicated and friendly staff can assist you with a range of issues impacting your wellbeing and ability to study, as well as building life skills and preparing for your future. The Student Wellbeing Team work in collaboration with students to promote success in their course of study.
The team focus on educating students in the area of self-development and independence, as well as maintaining their wellbeing.
Student Wellbeing Advisors
Student Wellbeing Advisors use a collaborative coaching approach to assist students to manage issues that may be impacting their wellbeing and ability to study.
These issues may involve the students’ mental health, relationships, work, study or relate to unresolved past experiences, such as grief and loss. See below to meet the team and get in contact.
Equitable Learning Advisors
Equitable Learning Advisors work with enrolled students who have additional learning needs as a result of a disability or chronic medical condition. Equitable Learning Advisors work collaboratively with trainers and students to create Equitable Learning Plans which outline the supports and reasonable adjustments to assist the students’ success whilst at GOTAFE.

Equitable Learning Supports
Equitable Learning Supports assist students to overcome barriers to their learning as a result of a disability or chronic medical condition. Equitable Learning Supports work in collaboration with trainers, Equitable Learning Advisors and the student to promote independent learning and academic success. Transitioning into study can be a big challenge on an individual, family, and sometimes community level. When there are other things going on in your life, it can be hard to dedicate enough time to keeping up with your studies. This is where our Student Experience Advisors come in.
They will work with you to build life skills, set goals for your future, and keep you connected to your community so you have all the support you need to succeed.
All your interactions with Student Experience Advisors are confidential, except in situations where you or someone else is at significant risk of harm. Student Experience Advisors are available at the Shepparton, Wangaratta, Benalla, and Seymour campuses, and can also provide support via phone or email to students studying off-campus or by distance.
