From time to time local businesses, organisations or government offer scholarships and grants across various learning areas and study departments. They aim to help cover the tuition of your studies. We will list them here when they are open for application.

Merrifield Student Scholarship Program

GOTAFE and MAB Corporation have partnered to provide Merrifield residents with scholarships of up to $2000. The scholarship program is a total of $20,000 comprised of a combination of individual student sponsorships of up to $2,000 (for eligible students) and short course delivery

The scholarship can be paid towards eligible qualifications, including supporting equipment or clothing.

Who Can Apply

Scholarships of up to $2000 are available for eligible students

Eligibility requirements:

  • Must be an Australian Citizen or have Australian Residency and be working in Australia
  • Must be a resident of Merrifield at the time of application and commencement of the course.

Applications will be assessed against a criteria of demonstrated need in the following areas:

  • Managing personal, social, or financial challenges
  • People from culturally diverse backgrounds
  • People that identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • People living with a disability
  • People seeking to get employment / upskill for improved employment outcomes.

Real Futures Grant

This grant is offered annually to one person. Applications for the 2023 grant are now open until October 31, 2023.

The value of this grant is AUD $5,000 (total amount). This amount is paid as a one-off payment to the winner.



Eligibility Criteria

1. To be eligible, you must be enrolled full-time in an accredited Australian Tertiary Education Institution and be studying for a certificate, diploma, degree or traineeship in any of the following areas:

  • Business – including any business-related courses from any institution.
  • Finance – including actuarial, statistics, accounting and general finance courses.
  • Medicine – including medical and health sciences, surgery and medical research.
  • Healthcare – including health and fitness-related specialties, sport sciences, health services assistance and international health.
  • Specialist healthcare – including nursing, optometry, dentistry and pharmacy.

2. Only citizens or permanent residents of Australia can apply.

3. You must have reached 18 or older to enter.

4. Employees and Immediate family members including the spouse, de-facto spouse, parent, guardian, child or sibling ("Immediate Family Members") of a Real Insurance employee are ineligible to enter. Employees and Immediate Family Members of Greenstone Financial Services (GFS) are also ineligible to enter.



How to apply

All applicants must email the following documentation to grants@greenstone.com.au;

  • Proof of Identification;
  • Proof of enrolment, including course name, tertiary institution name and enrolment status;
  • Your response (max word count 700 words); and
  • Contact details (including residential address).

Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships

Get a scholarship valued at up to $18,000 with the Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships Program (RRESP). The program has been introduced to improve access to and completion of tertiary education courses for students from regional and remote areas in Australia for qualifications including Certificate IV, Diploma or Graduate Certificate.

Scholarship applications are now open and will be offered throughout the 2022 academic year. Program Guidelines, eligibility requirements and information on how to apply are available online.
