Seven engineering fabrication apprentices tackled the 2019 WorldSkills Australia Regional Competition for Construction Steelwork.

Competitors had to construct a roller assembly within a tight time frame testing their time management skills, their ability to interpret technical drawings and putting their technical skills to the test with various welding and cutting techniques.

The medal winners are now eligible for selection for the 2020 WorldSkills Australia National Competition. Congratulations to all competitors who were awarded with a gift bag from competition sponsors Max Abrase and Alpha Drills. Winners were:

1st place – Uilliam Anderson-Kitchener from Whitlands Engineering, Whitlands

2nd place – Hugh Haynes from Vanderhoek Engineering, Tocumwal

3rd place – Mackenzie White from JA White Engineering, Yarrawonga
