A lifelong knowledge that she wanted to work with children and watch them develop from a young age led Tayla to pursue her traineeship in Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121) at GOTAFE.

While studying at GOTAFE, Tayla learns various aspects of child development and about crucial frameworks like the National Quality Standard (NQS) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). This comprehensive education is bolstered by her hands-on experience in the industry.

"I enjoy that I get to work in the industry while studying," Tayla said. "I am learning different things as I go that can benefit me while working."

One of the key benefits of studying at GOTAFE for Tayla is the flexibility of online learning.

"I like that my course is online and that I don’t have to travel anywhere for my classes. My trainer and assessor is always there to support me and she always explains what’s needed from me to pass my assignments."

Tayla's path to her dream future

Tayla aims to complete her Certificate III and then move on to a Diploma, with the ultimate goal of becoming a room leader. Despite the challenges of balancing full-time work and studies, she finds the journey rewarding.

"I am learning new things that I can use in the room and while working with the children. I like that I am constantly learning something new."

Reflecting on her experience at GOTAFE, Tayla sums it up in three words: "Fun, enjoyable, and reliable."
