Like many, Certificate III in Design Fundamentals (CUA30720) student Sienna Jolly has followed her passion and is pursuing a creative career.

Her design journey began with the hope of one day heading into the world of interior design.

“Studying at TAFE felt like a good stepping stone,” she said.

“It is helping me build a solid foundation for where I want to go.”

Currently, she is busy preparing for the upcoming student led exhibition in Wangaratta.

She has integrated her love of dance into her exhibition piece, which was inspired by renowned fashion designer Iris Van Herpen.

“I wanted to create something that was a big costume,” she said.

“Since I do dance, I also wanted to reflect that.”

Sienna practices contemporary, lyrical and jazz dance at Seymour Athletica Dance Studios.

Her recent projects, including a collage inspired by architecture, showcases her commitment to exploring the intersection of design and function.

“I really enjoy hands on things,” Sienna said.

“Collage making was a lot of fun.”

Sienna’s positive outlook is keeping her motivated through challenges she faces, including the photography unit.

“I am really excited to start using digital cameras,” she said.

“I like that TAFE is a bit freer than school, and you have more ability to do things by yourself.”
