New Barber Facilities Go on Show at GOTAFE
GOTAFE’s new state of the art Barber facilities have gone on show to local industry members.
GOTAFE’s new state of the art Barber facilities have gone on show to local industry members. The barber shops are located at GOTAFE’s Shepparton campus in Fryers Street and at GOTAFE’s Wangaratta campus in Docker Street.
The new facilities were made possible due to funding from the Victorian State Government’s Regional Specialist Training Fund (RSTF). The barber shop allows GOTAFE to deliver specialised training, in a real life, environment, which in turn, will help local businesses meet consumer demand for specialist male grooming with skilled barbers.
GOTAFE CEO Travis Heeney said, “The RSTF funding allows GOTAFE to provide a fully simulated barber shop where students can learn and hone their skills. By doing so, our students are learning the skills industry requires to help meet the critical need for skilled barbers.”
GOTAFE is proud to partner with the team from Kings Domain who worked closely to upskill GOTAFE trainers. Our trainers are now equipped with contemporary skills which they can pass onto their students.
Mr. Heeney says, “Our trainers have embraced the new opportunity to share their skills and knowledge with our students and are thriving in the modern new barber shop environment.”
The barber shop is now open to the public. To make a booking please call 1300 GOTAFE (468 233) or email salon@gotafe.vic.edu.au
