Billie-Ann Dillon completed her Certificate IV in Community Services (CHC42015) at GOTAFE in 2019 and is currently studying a Bachelor of Human Services and Master of Social Work at La Trobe University in Shepparton.

Billie-Ann moved to Shepparton 10 years ago and is a single mum to eight-year-old twins, who she hopes to inspire and be a good role model for.

"Juggling study with life can be hard, but it’s all about being organised. I want to do more for my children and show them anything is possible if you put your mind to it."

Billie-Ann will share her story at an information night to be held at GOTAFE’s Fryers Street Campus Auditorium on May 17 at 5.30-6.30pm.

“For me, Careers Week is all about inspiring people, regardless of their age,” she said.

“Maybe you are someone who doesn’t know what career you want yet.

“Anything is possible, it is never too late to find a career.”

Whether you’re kicking off in your first ever job, upskilling on your next step towards a better job, switching up industries and trying something completely new or returning to study, TAFE can support you on your pathway towards your goal – a job you love.

Every pathway is unique, and it’s important to understand that credit arrangements can differ depending on your own experience, and when, where and what you may have studied before.

“TAFE and University complement each other,” she said.

“There are so many different pathways to choose from.”

The information night is an opportunity for community members from all over the Goulburn Valley to come along and find out more about the Free TAFE and local university pathways.

It is a partnership between Skills and Jobs Centres, GOTAFE, La Trobe University and Melbourne University.
