Humans of GOTAFE - Mark Ward
Automotive Coordinator at GOTAFE Mark Ward has been with GOTAFE for over 19 years and is excited by helping students excel in the automotive industry.
“There are lots of changes in technology at the moment,” he said.
“It is an exciting time for the automotive industry.
“I love watching the apprentices exceed over the years and helping our staff succeed.
“I am very passionate about providing pathways for lifelong learning.
“You get some students in pre-apprenticeships who then continue into apprenticeships, and they then stay in touch.”
Mark himself started his automotive career as an apprentice in 1986, and understands the impact education providers like GOTAFE have in starting your career.
Mark takes care of the automotive trainers and students and is responsible for the delivery of nine automotive courses across four GOTAFE campuses.
He said the best part of his role is starting work at 7.30am each day.
"Every day is different, you don’t know what is around the corner."
