An unprecedented sixteen GOTAFE students have been invited to compete at the WorldSkills Australia National Championships taking place in Perth on the 13-15 August.

The WorldSkills Australia National Championships are the biggest vocational education excellence competitions in the country. The competition promotes and builds a skills culture, celebrating excellence and showcasing the best of the best in vocational education and training.

The following GOTAFE students will travel to Perth in August to represent Team Victoria at the event: GOTAFE CEO, Travis Heeney said, “We’re very proud to see our students invited to showcase their talents in these competitions, it’s a testament to our highly skilled students and talented trainers who lead our trades programs at GOTAFE.”

WorldSkills Australia is a unique development opportunity designed to help boost competitors’ confidence and produce effective future leaders. Competitors are tested both physically and mentally – marked against a rigorous framework aligned to national training packages, standards and benchmarks – with the overall goal of enhancing their technical and communication skills.

GOTAFE CEO, Travis Heeey said “We wish our students the very best of luck at the national championships, we know they will be outstanding representatives for GOTAFE’.
