Buxton local Mischa Toll, who is graduating with a Certificate IV in Mental Health (CHC43315) will be speaking at the Seymour and Wallan Graduation, taking place at Trawool Estate on Wednesday, 1 March.
When Mischa first commenced studies with GOTAFE, she was working on a trout farm. Now, she is working in the mental health sector.
Following her own battles with mental health, she decided to undertake a Certificate IV in Mental Health to help others through similar journeys.
“[My decision] revolved around the support that I had to help me get through that,” Mischa said.
“It was something that I wanted to do for a long time.”
With support from GOTAFE, Mischa overcame several hurdles during the study.
“We've got families and I was just trying to balance everything,” she said.
“We had a teacher change midway through the course and when Loretta (Trainer) stepped in, it was amazing.
“For me, I wouldn’t have even completed the course if it weren’t for her encouraging me and pushing me through it.”
Following completion of Certificate IV in Mental Health, she is now working in the mental health sector.
“The most rewarding part of completing the course is that I finished it, and I've had two jobs from doing the course.”
