Careers Day Out

Careers Day Out is the largest education, training, and employment expo in Northern Victoria.
Discover a diverse range of careers, education pathways, and employment opportunities available in the local area, with hands-on workshops, demonstrations, and talks from local businesses and education providers. Explore a variety of job opportunities with hubs dedicated to certain types of careers and industries, and interact with industry leaders – no question is a dumb question!
There are two school sessions running from 9am - 2:30pm each day and a session open to the public from 3-5:30pm on Thursday.
GOTAFE staff will be on hand throughout the expo with activities relating to hair, beauty, hospitality, and trades, to show how our courses can set you up for success on the pathway of your choice.

Hospitality Hub, presented by GOTAFE
Learn how to cook crepes...and eat them too!
Build, Construction, Women In Trades Hub
Students can get their hands dirty and try out plastering, painting, and building. Women Onsite and TradesWomen Australia will showcase a range of female lead trades and apprenticeships. Or, have a go at the GOTAFE car painting simulator
Arts & Creative Hub
Chats with local artists, writers, dancers, floral designers, and singers to learn how to pursue a creative career. Workshops like visual art, merchandise design, and creative floral styling.
Health Hub, presented by GV Health
This hub will focus on allied health including various specialties such as nursing and midwifery, medical, CASA (Centre against sexual assault), mental health & Headspace.
Think Tank
Local businesses, banks & universities will provide students further insight into good study habits, scholarship sessions, careers in the courthouse, banking, and finance industries.
Fitness & Wellness Hub
Local practitioners, nutritionists & instructors will take students through a range of wholistic activities like yoga, using food as medicine, and active living workshops.
