GOTAFE Board Member

Bwe Thay was appointed to the Board on 1st July 2022. He has strong stakeholder engagement, networking, and negotiation skills.

Bwe is currently the Deputy Chairperson of the Victorian Multicultural Commission where his major responsibilities include liaising with ministers and government departments on topics including workforce diversity, employment, education, and COVID-19 recovery.

He is also a Salzburg Global Fellow participating in the Asia Peace Innovators Forum. Bwe holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree (majoring in sociology and counselling) from Australian Catholic University and has been recognise with numerous awards for his contribution to multiculturalism in Australia. He is very proud to be the current Citizen of the Year in his home municipality of Whitehorse.
