GOTAFE is seeking horse agistees for their Tone Road Wangaratta Campus. Those interested in the program are encouraged to read the below information before reaching out to formally submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) before the deadline.

Some things to consider before submitting an EOI:
  • There are limited vacancies for horses/ponies and an EOI application is required to be submitted to be considered for the program.
  • For horses/ponies to be considered they need to be well-handled and have no behavioural vices.
  • The horses/ponies will be provided with a paddock shelter and area for exercise (please note the indoor arena is not available at this stage).
  • The agisted horses will be required to be available for the experienced apprentice farriers to trim / shoe during the year and for handling horse activities at equine studies workshops in April, July and September.
How does it work?

Horses/ponies will have their own paddock and shelter with a water trough. Maintenance of structures will be maintained by the GOTAFE facilities team. Owners are responsible for regularly checking and caring for their horse/pony and maintaining horse welfare practices at all times.

The schedule for the workshops will be provided to owners and the horses/ponies are expected to be available on-site for the workshops which are hosted under the Code of Practice for the Welfare of Horses (Revision 1).

Owners can exercise the horse/pony on the property and take off campus for external activities. The workshop activities are conducted over 1 to 2 days at a time.

Interested?

Expression of interest forms will be accepted until 30 October 2023. Applications will be reviewed and owners notified of the outcome by 13th November.
