The new courses available include Introduction to Farm Fencing (SCFFENCE24), Introduction to Biosecurity Principles (SCBIOSEC24) and Introduction to Greenhouse Hydroponics (SCGREENH24).

The new courses have been developed as part of the $1.99m funding GOTAFE received through the Victorian Government’s Agriculture TAFE and Training Funding in June 2023.

Coordinator Land at GOTAFE, Rob Hall, said the new courses will provide industry with a much-needed boost.

“Victoria is Australia’s largest producer of food and fibre products,” he said.

“GOTAFE is working hard to ensure agriculture workers are equipped with the appropriate skills as industry evolves.”

There are several other courses yet to be released which will have a similar focus on productivity, compliance, innovation, safety and the workforce.
