Wine Australia is offering $3,300 scholarships towards tuition fees for students enrolling in GOTAFE’s Diploma of Viticulture (AHC51524) or Diploma of Wine Technology (11034NAT).

Paid in two instalments - $500 at the completion of year one of study and $2800 at the end of the course – the scholarships are part of Wine Australia’s efforts to support the wider industry.

“Wine Australia invests in various programs and scholarships to attract and retain talent across the Australian wine industry. Our approach is collaborative and adaptable, recognising there are diverse learning needs and pathways,” Wine Australia Senior Program Manager Jo Hargreaves said.

“Our support for Diploma level scholarships with GOTAFE demonstrates the important role that vocational training plays in attracting new people to the industry as well as providing an opportunity for upskilling, regardless of career stage.”

Scholarships are available.

DIPLOMA OF VITICULTURE SCHOLARSHIP

The Diploma of Viticulture suits those wanting to build skills in vineyard management and grape production for supervisory or management roles. Students must be self-employed, employed, or able to work in a vineyard.

DIPLOMA OF WINE TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP

The Diploma of Wine Technology prepares students to work in wineries or manage small wine-making businesses. Students must be employed in, or able to work in, a winery.

Scholarships like those available for these courses help reduce the financial barriers to study.

“Scholarships can have a significant impact on a student’s educational experience, not only easing financial burdens but gaining access to wider industry networking benefits offered by Wine Australia,” Ms Hargreaves said.

“We’re excited to see where this collaboration leads and look forward to connecting with the scholarship recipients.”

Four scholarships in total are available – one for each discipline in 2026 and 2027.

First intake applications close July 1st 2026, commencing July 13th 2026.
