Student Spotlight- Ryan Mackrell
A chance conversation with a friend has led Certificate III in Plumbing (CPC32420) student Ryan Mackrell to find his chosen career.
"A friend mentioned to me one day that they were short at work and would I be interested in helping out for a couple of days. So I did that and really liked the work and made the choice that this is what I wanted to do."

A pipeline into Ryan's future
"I knew I would like to work with my hands, but wasn’t too sure until those couple of days helping out and after that, it was a pretty easy decision.”
Currently employed by TQ Plumbing in Euroa, Ryan said that his time at GOTAFE had been a positive experience.
“The support we get from the teachers makes it such a great place to come and learn. All of the teachers are good at explaining everything and making sure that we understand what we have to do and how we should do it.”
A new state-of-the-art learning environment
It is an exciting time for Ryan and the rest of his plumbing group as they are scheduled to be moving from their William Orr location to the newly extended Archer Street campus later this year, something that Ryan is looking forward to.
“From everything I have been told it is going to be an awesome place to keep learning.”
