The amalgamation of GOTAFE and Wodonga TAFE has been confirmed, following endorsement by the Victorian Government of the Board-led initiative.

Wodonga TAFE and GOTAFE brands will continue to operate in community, ensuring students and industry engage with the organisations they have relationships with.

Wodonga TAFE CEO and GOTAFE Acting CEO Phil Paterson said students remain the focus for GOTAFE and Wodonga TAFE and there are exciting opportunities for 2026 and beyond.

“The amalgamation strengthens opportunities for community and industry across our broad geography of Northern Victoria,” he said.

“We are ready for 2026 with more courses, more choice, and more opportunities for our students, industry and community.”

Expanded course offerings are now available at both TAFEs - the first of many education benefits to come for the region.

GOTAFE will deliver four courses at Wodonga TAFE campuses next year. This includes the Certificate IV in Cyber Security (22603VIC), a course designed to meet the needs of the booming cyber security industry.

Wodonga TAFE will also deliver two courses at GOTAFE campuses, including the Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting (MEM40422) – a sought-after skill in the mechanical engineering and manufacturing industries.

“The coming together of GOTAFE and Wodonga TAFE is producing tangible benefits by combining our skills and expertise,” Mr Paterson said.

“This is a great sign of things to come for students and industry partners across our combined region.”
