Meet our new Regional Leads.
Cayla Fin has over 15 years’ experience across vocational and higher education and is proud to call Greater Shepparton – and NVITAFE – home.
Currently serving as Chief Transformation and Performance Officer, Cayla has also been appointed Regional Lead for the Shepparton Region, reinforcing NVITAFE’s commitment to strong local leadership.
“I’ve always believed people should be able to build a good life and career right where they live — without having to leave their community to find opportunity,” Cayla said.
“Living and working in Greater Shepparton, you see what the right training makes possible. It gives people confidence, stable work, and options they didn’t think they had — and that flow-on is felt across families, workplaces and the broader community.
“When training is done properly in regional communities, it doesn’t just change one life - it strengthens the whole region.
“That’s what drew me to vocational education. It’s practical, it’s local, and it leads somewhere.”
Cayla is looking forward to continuing to strengthen NVITAFE’s connections in the Greater Shepparton – and wider Goulburn Valley – community.
“Our job at NVITAFE is simple, make sure local people can get the skills they need for real jobs, right here,” Cayla said.
“At NVITAFE, that’s exactly what we’re focused on, making sure training reflects real jobs, real industries, and how people actually live and work in this region.
“I’ve spent around 15 years across vocational and higher education, and one thing doesn’t change: when training is designed and delivered locally, in step with industry, it works.
“If we want a strong regional economy, training has to line up with real jobs, and that only happens when industry and education work side by side.
“There’s already a lot of good work happening across the Goulburn Valley. The focus now is on strengthening it, backing what works, closing gaps, and making it easier for people to move from training into real opportunities.
“Because when that alignment is right, it lifts everyone, businesses, workers and the broader community.
“NVITAFE isn’t just a training provider, it’s part of the backbone of this region’s future.”
