NVITAFE sets the standard for expertise in motorcycle technology
Development of course units for all TAFE partners puts NVITAFE at the leading edge of motorcycle mechanical technology.
Northern Victoria Institute of TAFE (NVITAFE) has recently completed the development of learning content and assessment for the Certificate III in Motorcycle Mechanical Technology (AUR30820).
As part of the TAFE shared courseware initiative, NVITAFE – delivered by GOTAFE and Wodonga TAFE – led the project to develop a total of 33 units which are now available for all TAFE partners to use.
The NVITAFE Product Design team wrote and developed the courseware, along with input from THINKA and our partner TAFE, Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI).
Michael Mavrikakis and Shani Marshall and their team from BKI supported the project, assisting in the review of content and validation of assessment tools.
The entire Victorian TAFE network will now be able to deliver the courseware, setting a new benchmark for quality and collaboration across the sector.
The journey to develop the courseware began in 2024, with a short pause before Automotive Teacher Jack Arnold and the Product Design team reignited the project in late 2025. Together, they completed the remaining units and delivered the full qualification to the TAFE Victorian Shared Courseware Hub (TVSCHub).
Over many months, Jack collaborated closely with Learning Content Developer Tim Quirk and Multimedia Designer Carly Burns to turn technical training into engaging digital learning. They were supported by Learning Content Developer Jo Anast, Multimedia Designer Ryan Morrison, and Assessment Specialists Megan Dodd and Paula Jafer, who helped review and update assessments for network delivery.
The result: thirty-three Moodle units packed with practical demonstration videos, interactive activities, and contemporary course design. Filmed in NVITAFE’s own campus workshops and built around real industry practice, these resources are designed to support apprentices both in the classroom and on the tools.
Feedback from students and teachers has been overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the videos, visual design, and interactive elements, making the content more engaging and accessible than ever before.
