Industry partnerships and pathways set to be on show at Careers and Futures Expo
The Careers and Futures Expo will be held on Tuesday, 25 August from 3pm to 7pm at GOTAFE's Fryers Street Campus in Shepparton, bringing together employers, educators and industry experts to help people explore study, training and career opportunities.
GOTAFE and Wodonga TAFE, part of Northern Victoria Institute of TAFE (NVITAFE), will both run events for the Careers and Futures Expo, bringing together the scale and shared expertise now on offer across the Goulburn and North-East region.
NVITAFE is partnering with key stakeholders, showcasing how prospective and current students can leverage the pathways and knowledge on offer across the combined footprint to help achieve their study and career goals, meaning attendees can explore both study and employment opportunities.
Kialla Children’s Centre will speak about the pathway options available to prospective Early Childhood Education and Care students, including workplace training, Free TAFE programs and higher education partnerships – all designed to help fill the current and future workplace needs of our region.
“At Kialla Children’s Centre, we are passionate about supporting the next generation of early childhood educators and providing opportunities for people to learn, grow and build their careers within our sector,” Kialla Children’s Centre Co-ordinator Nic Short said.
“Our partnership with GOTAFE has been invaluable in helping us welcome trainees into our team, providing them with hands-on experience, mentoring and the opportunity to develop their skills in a supportive environment.
“We love seeing trainees become confident educators and watching them build meaningful relationships with children, families and our team. Investing in trainees is not only important for their future, but also for the future of early childhood education, ensuring we continue to have passionate and dedicated educators caring for our community’s children.”
Data released by the Victorian Skills Authority indicates that over 1100 new education workers will be needed in our region alone across the next three years, with more than 200 of those in the early childhood education and care sector.

Held during National Skills Week, The Expo will also help you learn about future workforce opportunities and emerging industries and find the skills, qualifications and experiences that can help shape your future.
