After completing a Diploma of Graphic Design (CUA50720) in 2022, GOTAFE graduate Casey Bromley recently attended one of GOTAFE's graduation ceremonies.

During the year while she was completing her qualification, Casey commenced working part-time at a large sign maker in Wodonga as a graphic designer.

“When I started out using the graphics computer programs I felt as though I was never going to ‘get it'," she said.

Since completing, she has moved into a full-time role in that business.

Casey started her journey with GOTAFE after finishing high school when she was a work-based trainee in an administrative role. During this time, Casey was required to develop newsletters and small promotional items and quickly realised she had a passion for graphic design.

Shortly after, Casey moved to full-time study and completed a Certificate IV of Design (CUA40720) in 2021 before moving on to the Diploma of Graphic Design (CUA50720) in 2022.

"Together with the support of my trainers, I built on my basic skills and then I was able to start adding my own design style into my portfolio work," Casey said.

The skills and knowledge she gained through her studies have allowed her to obtain employment in an industry she is very passionate about. She gets to apply her digital, design and typography skills working in a fast-paced environment as part of a large team.

"Through my course, we did resume writing and research into working in the industry – so I graduated feeling confident and ready to start working straight away in a job I really enjoy.”
