Hands On opportunities for local youth
GOTAFE was proud to be the Gold Sponsor of this year's Hands On Trades Career Expo, delivered by NE Tracks LLEN.
Local students who attended the career expo at Winton Motor Raceway on 15 August connected with local industry, employers and education providers, gaining insight into their available pathways.
There were 1500 students from across the Goulburn-Ovens region in attendance.
The event allowed participants to immerse themselves in dynamic activities centered around trades.
“Having GOTAFE as our Gold Sponsor gives us the confidence to grow the Expo and we can host more exhibitors bringing interesting hands-on experiences for the students to try,” said Tim Oliver, CEO at NE Tracks LLEN.
GOTAFE’s Acting Chief Attraction and Marketing Officer Fiona Harmeston said the expo is a great way to engage with local secondary students as they explore future career pathways.
“The Hands On Trades Career Expo is a way to inspire and excite students about entering the workforce while showing them some of the many opportunities available,” she said.
“We enjoyed welcoming students to the expo and joining with other exhibitors in giving them hands-on experience in the exciting careers on offer across our region.”
Over 38 schools registered to attend, in addition to the many local businesses and service providers.
