The MOU between the two organisations will provide leading customised training and upskilling to SPC’s workforce, as well as meeting the future skills and job needs of the wider food manufacturing and agriculture sectors.

The MOU will also facilitate a strategic roadmap to ensure the longevity and prosperity of key regional jobs within the sector. Training will be tailored and purpose-designed to create innovative opportunities to build capabilities, skills, and knowledge across the supply chain.

“Partnering with one of the region’s biggest organisations to ensure the future economic prosperity of the Great Shepparton area is a very exciting opportunity” said Travis Heeney CEO GOTAFE.

“This MOU will enable GOTAFE and SPC to innovate, as well co-design programs and deliver solutions to benefit both organisations and the region.” Mr Heeney added.

"This partnership will ensure the supply of current and emerging skills, a more robust supply of skilled labour, jobs growth and we’re building skills for future jobs within the food and manufacturing industries."

CEO SPC, Rob Giles

The partnership aims to better serve the community’s current and future food manufacturing and agriculture needs and create pathways to meaningful local jobs. It will also explore opportunities to share facilities or develop new, contemporary facilities for the future skills requirements of these industries.

Both organisations aspire to foster excellence in training, food and agriculture, for the Greater Shepparton and broader Australian community.
