Caleb Stoneman, Coordinator Outdoor Leadership at GOTAFE welcomed news that this course is included in the Free TAFE initiative for 2022 and said it would be welcomed by the industry.
“The outdoor sector is currently experiencing a huge shortage of staff due to COVID-19,” he said.
“With an increased focus on education outdoors as we follow Victoria’s roadmap, the demand for qualified outdoor leaders is already growing.”
The course takes students from bush to beach, equipping them with essential skills and industry experience.
Due to many factors, including the nature of the course, it has always attracted high fees.
