Community inspired at Wangaratta Open Day
Community members turned out in strong numbers for GOTAFE’s Open Day in Wangaratta, held over the weekend at the Docker Street campus.
Hosted in the Flexible Learning Centre on Cusack Street, the event offered a hands-on look at the diverse education and employment pathways available through GOTAFE.
Attendees explored a range of courses through targeted information sessions run by passionate teaching staff.
Prospective students got to sit in an electric vehicle, see our nursing facilities and try their hand at a diverse range of learning equipment.
Careers advisors and enquiry officers were on hand to support prospective students with course selection and application advice.
The highlight of the day was the return of GOTAFE alumni and Student Ambassador, Kate Reid.
Since completing the Diploma of Nursing (HLT54121), Kate has gone on to study a Bachelor of Nursing at La Trobe University, work with National Patient Transport, and raise a family.
She shared insights from her journey and guided visitors around the campus, telling prospective students and their families on a tour of allied health, pathology and nursing facilities that studying with GOTAFE was “one of the best choices” she has made.

For community members who missed GOTAFE Wangaratta’s Open Day, there is an Open Evening being held in Seymour from 4-7pm on September 3.
However, if you can’t attend an Open Day, every day is an Open Day at GOTAFE and you are always welcome to drop in, give us a call or visit our website to make an enquiry.
