Approximately 100 GOTAFE Wangaratta campus graduates were honoured at a graduating ceremony at the Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre.

The 2019 graduates were entertained by MC Tim Campbell and enthralled by keynote speaker and Australian actor, Samuel Johnson.

GOTAFE CEO Travis Heeney thanked the graduates for entrusting GOTAFE with their education and training needs and said he was proud to offer students the opportunity to study locally and stay connected with their community, friends and family.

“It takes focus, resilience dedication and teamwork to be sitting here tonight,” Mr Heeney said. “I’m certain that many of you came to GOTAFE through different pathways and opportunities, and I’m honoured you continued your learning journey with us. You should all be proud of your achievements.”

The graduation ceremony recognised students who successfully completed their studies in 2019 across a range of study areas including business and IT, health and community services, land and animals, hospitality, technical trades, and hair and beauty.

During the graduation ceremony, several students were also awarded for their outstanding achievements in each of their individual study areas, with a total of 23 Wangaratta students awarded on the night.

The graduation ceremony was attended by students and their guests, MP Tim McCurdy, and GOTAFE Board and Executive members.
