This WorkSafe approved HSR Refresher OHS Training Course has a focus on plant and is an opportunity to revisit aspects of the HSR Initial OHS Training Course and to keep up to date with any legislative changes that may have occurred. Attendance could also be beneficial for Health and Safety Committee members or Operational Supervisors. The course is delivered in one day.
Emphasis is on participant involvement with activities covering:
- Review of key concepts
- Review of your activities as a HSR
- Risk Management
- Plant Case Study
- Issue Resolution
- Provisional Improvement Notices
- WorkSafe Inspectors
Under the OHS Act 2004 (section 67) all elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) and Deputy HSRs are entitled to undertake WorkSafe Victoria approved OHS Refresher Training for HSRs at least once per year after completing the initial course of training and choose their course in consultation with their employer. An employer, if requested, must allow an elected HSR and elected Deputy HSR to attend a WorkSafe approved HSR Refresher OHS Training Course on paid time, pay the cost of the course and any other associated costs.
A light morning/afternoon tea and lunch is supplied for on-campus students, please advise any dietary requirements when enrolling.

Additionally some courses require students to purchase or supply text
books, kits, tools, uniforms and personal protection equipment. Some
specific materials may be purchased through the GOTAFE Bookshop. A full

information session or during the pre-training review Interview.
