This WorkSafe-approved course provides you with an opportunity to revisit and refresh your skills in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and keep up to date with any legislative changes that may have occurred.

When the course is completed participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Each participant must have a computer, reliable internet access, camera, speakers and microphone. A link to access the Zoom training environment will be provided on enrolment.
The course will be delivered online either over 2 days per week, 3.5 hours per day or over 1 day, 7 hours per day. Delivery can also be tailored to suit businesses who want a dedicated course for their staff only.
Under the OHS act 2004 (section 67) all elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Deputy HSRs are entitled to undertake WorkSafe Victoria approved OHS training and choose their training course in consultation with their employer.
Studying during COVID-19 Restrictions
We’ve had to make adjustments to how our courses are delivered due to the restrictions imposed by COVID-19. This means that we’re currently offering a combination of delivery modes including online and flexible learning and, where we can, on-campus classes with strict social distancing in place.

Material fees cover costs associated with the following where applicable, and not limited to:
- Classroom activity consumables, handouts and booklets
- E-Learning resources and associated license access fees
Additionally some courses require students to purchase or supply text
books, kits, tools, uniforms and personal protection equipment. Some
specific materials may be purchased through the GOTAFE Bookshop. A full
list with associated costs will be provided to you at your course
information session or during the pre-training review Interview.
Under the OHS Act 2004 (section 67) all elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) and Deputy HSRs are entitled to undertake WorkSafe Victoria approved OHS Refresher Training for HSRs at least once per year after completing the initial course of training and choose their course in consultation with their employer. An employer, if requested, must allow an elected HSR and elected HSR and elected Deputy HSR to attend a WorkSafe approved HSR Refresher OHS Training Course on paid time, pay the cost of the course and any other associated costs.

A light lunch is provided when the course is delivered at one of our campuses. Please advise the Course Coordinator of any specific dietary requirements when booking.
Participants who complete the course will be provided a certificate of attendance and not a nationally recognised VET qualification.
