Course Overview

This Protected Cropping Masterclass is ideal for those that are interested in a technical training course covering greenhouse and hydroponic production. Specifically designed to develop high level technical and management skills of:

  • Growers in protected cropping (greenhouse, vertical farm, hydroponic, aquaponic)
  • Suppliers of hydroponic equipment
  • Agronomists
  • Horticultural researchers and educators, including new industry entrants

This 4 1/2 day masterclass will include practical training, discussions, demonstrations and lectures conducted by experienced industry presenters, with topics including growing media, plant physiology, nutrient management, water quality, irrigation, EC & pH, environmental management, production systems and plant health.

CRANBOURNE - Start 19th to 23rd Aug - 4.5 days - 8.30am to 4.30pm/2019

IPSWICH - Start 9th to 13th Sept - 4.5 days - 8.30am to 4.30pm/2019

HAWKESBURY - Start 28th Oct to 1st Nov - 4.5 days - 8.30am to 4.30pm/2019

All applicants fall under one of the following:

  • Be an Australian citizen; or
  • A new holder of a permanent visa; or
  • A New Zealand citizen

The student tuition fees as published are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Please note all fees and charges are correct at time of publication for 2019 and may change without notice. 2020 fees are yet to be published.

Students will be invoiced for the components of the course that they are enrolled into for each year or semester.

Material fees cover costs associated with the following where applicable, and not limited to:

  • Classroom activity consumables, handouts and booklets
  • E-Learning resources and associated license access fees
  • Excursions

Additionally some courses require students to purchase or supply text books, kits, tools, uniforms and personal protection equipment. Some specific materials may be purchased through the GOTAFE Bookshop. A full list with associated costs will be provided to you at your course information session or during the pre-training review Interview.
