Attendance & commitment
General public blended delivery | 3 days course length & pre-learning | Part-time study load
Students are required to:
- Attend a 1 hour online webinar introductory session where students are inducted into GOLEARN to commence their self-paced study. This is held on the Monday 2 weeks prior to the first practical training day.
- Complete Assessment Task 1 before attending practical days.
- Attend 3 consecutive days (Wed- Fri) (7 hours per day) of practical training at the Shepparton William Orr Campus.
- Undertake some research and self-directed learning.

GOTAFE entry requirements
- This industry requires individuals to work outdoors and with livestock in a variety of conditions.
- Individuals will need to be physically fit and due to the nature of the process, it requires physical strength in the left arm.
Student resources
Students are required to provide clean rubber boots for the practical training, all other resources are provided.

Skills Recognition is an assessment only process that may result in credits towards a part or full qualification. There is no formal training involved, although you may choose to complete further training as a result of the assessment process.
You can apply for Skills Recognition before you enrol in the qualification you are seeking. You can apply for Skills Recognition through one or both of the following processes:
- Credit Transfer for formal training that might be equivalent to a new qualification or partial qualification.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for people who have relevant and current skills and knowledge that they have gained through non-formal or informal learning i.e. work or life experience.
