The Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management is a recognised qualification to become an Executive Manager.
This course focuses on developing your ability to provide leadership and strategic direction for both teams and organisations as a whole. You will learn to use initiative and exercise judgement to plan and implement strategy and management across an organisation, including accountability at both a personal and team level.
You will also develop skills in leading and managing organisational change and development, with a focus on developing and implementing diversity policies, managing human resources strategic planning, and providing leadership across the organisation.
This is a dual qualification course with BSB60915 Advanced Diploma of Management (Human Resources).
The Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management gives you the skills to take on a role as an Executive Manager, Senior Manager, Area Manager, Department Manager, or Regional Manager.
You'll develop strong people and organisational management skills that will make you an asset in any organisation.
After graduating, you might like to undertake further study in the Bachelor of Applied Management conducted by GOTAFE in partnership with Federation University.

The student tuition fees as published are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Please note all fees and charges are correct at time of publication for 2019 and may change without notice. 2020 fees are yet to be published.
Students will be invoiced for the components of the course that they are enrolled into for each year or semester.
Material fees cover costs associated with the following where applicable, and not limited to:
- Classroom activity consumables, handouts and booklets
- E-Learning resources and associated license access fees
Additionally some courses require students to purchase or supply text books, kits, tools, uniforms and personal protection equipment. Some specific materials may be purchased through the GOTAFE Bookshop. A full list with associated costs will be provided to you at your course information session or during the pre-training review Interview.

GOTAFE preferred entry requirements
Before being accepted into the course applicants must:
- Attend an interview
- Undertake a Pre-training Review to document previous work experience and qualifications and assess suitability for the course
- Complete a CSPA test to ensure the required language, literacy and numeracy levels required for the course
Applicants also need to have:
- The ability to be currently employed or have access to workplace practices
- The ability to attend timetabled on-campus classes
- Ability to undertake training at this qualification level
- Ability to communicate with others
- Ability to organise study and work independently
- Keen interest in this Industry sector
- Some computer skills particularly in Word and use of the Internet
It would be preferred that students have completed BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership and Management or BSB50618 Diploma of Human Resources Management or other relevant qualification or have extensive vocational experience as a Manager.

Attendance & Commitment
It is important that students commit to all course requirements, including study and assessments the student may need to complete outside their normal training sessions.
If attending on-campus, students will be required to attend the timetabled on-campus classes totalling 6-12 -hours per month and undertake a minimum of 12 hours per month of self-directed learning and completing the required exercises and assessments. If unable to attend the timetabled on-campus classes students will be required to contact the trainer and catch up before the next class.

Skills Recognition is an assessment only process that may result in credits towards a part or full qualification. There is no formal training involved, although you may choose to complete further training as a result of the assessment process.
You can apply for Skills Recognition before you enrol in the qualification you are seeking. You can apply for Skills Recognition through one or both of the following processes:
- Credit Transfer for formal training that might be equivalent to a new qualification or partial qualification
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for people who have relevant and current skills and knowledge that they have gained through non-formal or informal learning i.e. work or life experience.
