Course Overview

Expand your general computer skills and knowledge, and develop your confidence to explore the Internet.

This course will build on the skills you gained in Introduction to Computers – Level 1, and extend your knowledge of Microsoft programs.

Topics will include:

  • extending your knowledge of MS Word
  • covering a thorough look at document production
  • extending your knowledge of MS Excel
  • covering a thorough look at creating a simple spreadsheet
  • using advanced searching on the web
  • protecting against viruses and spyware and management of downloaded files

You'll finish this course with the confidence to use your computer for everyday administrative tasks and safely browse the web for information or entertainment.

This course assumes that you have reached the level of the Introduction to Computers course.

Studying during COVID-19 Restrictions

We’ve had to make adjustments to how our courses are delivered due to the restrictions imposed by COVID-19. This means that we’re currently offering a combination of delivery modes including online and flexible learning and, where we can, on-campus classes with strict social distancing in place.
