Course Overview
This self-paced online course provides an engaging learning experience using simulation, interactive activities, and home devices to develop a foundational understanding of the high-level network architecture and how a network operates.
Participants will learn how to:
- Plan and install a home or small business network using wireless technology, then connect it to the Internet.
- Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using Cisco Packet Tracer.
- Practice verifying and troubleshooting network and Internet connectivity.
- Recognise and mitigate security threats to a home network.
This course is suitable for developers, business analysts, or other professionals looking to gain essential networking knowledge, as well as anyone interested in studying IT or a related field.
This is CISCO industry-accredited training. Upon successful completion, participants will gain a digital badge from CISCO that they can share on their LinkedIn profile.*

Studying during COVID-19 Restrictions
During COVID‐19 lockdown periods, this course will have the majority of the training delivered using online methods of teaching and communication while students engage from home with their trainers. Any required practical components of the course will be moved to a more appropriate time later in the year.

Entry Requirements
There are no prerequisites for this course. While it is not required, it is recommended that learners complete the CISCO: Introduction to Cybersecurity short course.
