Disabled Australian Apprentice Wage Supports (DAAWS)

Apprentices who are Australian citizens with a disability may be eligible to receive additional assistance under the Australian Apprentices Incentives program. DAAWS offers a range of assistance and supports to apprentices, trainees and school based apprenticeships who meet the eligibility criteria. Assistance may be available to employers through the Employment Assistance Fund to access a range of work place modifications including a wage support.

A range of additional assistance is available to the enrolled apprentice, trainee or school based who qualifies under this incentive in the areas of:

  • Tutorial assistance
  • Interpreter (Auslan)
  • Mentoring services

If you have a diagnosed disability and are currently undertaking an apprenticeship, traineeship or school based apprenticeship or looking to undertake one of the above career paths and would like further information relating to DAAWS please don’t hesitate to contact one of our Disability Liaison Officers to point you into the right direction.
