I returned to study after a long time, having suffered an accident at work and no longer being able to return to my previous employment. I undertook an assessment which showed that with my injury, office administration work would be best suited for me. The people assisting with my rehabilitation showed me the courses I could do through GOTAFE.

Being able to study where I lived was a great advantage, and the smaller, more comfortable environment and class sizes made it easier for me to return to study.

Returning to study at GOTAFE got me interacting with people again which was wonderful and it opened my mind up to a whole new world. I had no computer skills prior to the course, and I just loved everything I learned with computers; so much so that at the end of the day I wouldn’t want to leave!

It was scary going back to study at first, but the support I received from the teachers, and the enjoyment I got from learning helped me to overcome it and I really enjoyed coming to GOTAFE for each class. I’m now applying for business administration positions and am interested in Medical Reception, but the best thing is the courses I’ve studied will help me in a wide variety of administrative roles so I’m open to a lot of different things.
