GOTAFE manages Cusack House in Docker Street, Wangaratta with preference given to full time Animal Science and Equine students. GOTAFE also has a student hostel at the William Orr Campus in Wanganui Road, Shepparton which is managed privately.

Cusack House
Cusack House was built in 1997 as a modern apartment building for GOTAFE students studying full time courses and who have a substantial distance to travel from their home or employment. Centrally located in Cusack Street it is walking distance to the CBD, supermarkets, fast food outlets and is within walking distance to the train station.
There are 15 on campus places available to GOTAFE students at Cusack House. As there is a high demand for these places, priority is given to students who are studying full time Animal Sciences courses, e.g. Diploma of Equine Stud Management and for those who would like independent living.
- 2 units with 4 bedrooms
- 2 units with 2 bedrooms
- 3 single units
Each student has their own bedroom and shares the kitchen, laundry, bathroom and living area. Each unit is fully-furnished and equipped with kitchen appliances. All bedrooms are fully lockable.
Students need to provide their own bedding, towels and electrical equipment such as stereo, bedside lamp, etc. GOTAFE does not provide food.
The cost per week is:
- Single bedroom units $132
- 2 bedroom unit $113 each resident
- 4 bedroom unit $105 each resident
- Plus a bond of $400 for each resident
The bond and two weeks rent is payable before moving in and rent is payable in advanced each fortnight.
Applicants will be required to attend an interview to determine level of suitability and provide two referees.
Applications need to be received by Friday 9th January. Places will be allocated after interview and only successful applicants will be notified.
