Registration and Continuous Improvement

As a Registered Training Organisation, Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE undertakes a range of activities for the purpose of continuous improvement in the quality of training and services provided.
Many activities involve feedback from key stakeholders, including client satisfaction surveys of students and employers. Quality Indicator surveys of learner engagement and employer satisfaction were conducted in 2011 and a copy of the 2011 Registering Body Report is available here.
Also available is a report on 2011 Enrolments and Completions by Qualification. In reading this report, please note many students study part time over more than one year and many only wish to complete some units rather than a full qualification
.
* Explanatory Notes for the Learner Engagement and Employer Satisfaction Surveys: These indicators are based on a survey of 1,021 students and 220 employers. This sample represents 6% of this organisation's training delivery in the 2011 calendar year.

The Institute also participates in external registration audits and in March 2010 the Victorian Registration & Qualifications Authority (VRQA) appointed auditors conducted a registration audit of the Institute. In their Audit Report the VRQA provided recommendations and suggestions for improvement in a number of areas, which the Institute has addressed and provided a response to the VRQA.
The VRQA subsequently granted an extension of registration to the Institute for five years, to 30 June 2015. A copy of the VRQA Audit Report and current Registration Certificate is available here from this website.

As from 1 July 2011 the Institute's training provider registration transferred to the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), although registration to deliver senior secondary programs (VCE, VCAL) in Victoria remains with VRQA
