New Way to Enter Hairdressing Industry

GOTAFE has launched the Certificate II in Hairdressing (SIH20111) as part of a suite of Hairdressing and Beauty offerings at their Seymour Campus.
GOTAFE Hairdressing and Beauty Team Leader, Wendi Bourke, said the course is perfect for anyone who is interested in starting out in the industry.
“This course has been developed with a Salon Assistant in mind,” Ms Bourke said, “There are no entry requirements, all you need is an interest in the industry and the drive to work with people.”
“Hairdressing and beauty skills are in high demand right now. This course will provide students with a solid understanding of basic hairdressing skills, plus retail and communication skills, which are equally important.”

GOTAFE operate Hair and Beauty Training Salons in which students put their newly found skills to the test with real paying customers.

“Students have the unique opportunity to work one day per week in our fully equipped training salon where they will gain hands on experience. Our highly qualified instructors will supervise as students take bookings, consult with clients, perform a range of salon treatments, process payments and sell retail products. – the whole process.”
The Certificate II in Hairdressing (SIH20111) runs over 10 weeks, with classes offered two days per week commencing on Wednesday 7 October until Friday 11 December 2015 at the GOTAFE Seymour Campus in Wallis Street.
This course will also be delivered at the GOTAFE Wangaratta and Shepparton Campuses on Wednesdays and Thursdays, commencing Wednesday 7 October until Thursday 10 December 2015.
