On Saturday 7 July, GOTAFE’s  Docker Street Campus, Wangaratta played host to the Dirrawarra Indigenous Network’s NAIDOC 2012 Celebration.

Commencing with a flag raising ceremony at 11.30am, the day encompassed traditional dancing, stone knapping classes, storytelling, Aboriginal music, gum leaf and boomerang painting, traditional Aboriginal games and bush tucker.

The general public were encouraged to and participated in many of the activities.

A series of short films and documentaries were also shown in GOTAFE's AK Bradbury Auditorium.

GOTAFE Wangaratta Commercial and Operations Manager, Andrew Kay, said he was encouraged by the community’s use of the campus, embracing it as more than just a place for higher education.
