Art and Design students exit with exhibition

It's an exciting time of the year for all involved with the preparation for the Exit '09 student exhibition. Each year graduating and final year students from the Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE (GOTAFE) Arts Department hold an exhibition at the Wangaratta Exhibitions Gallery, to showcase their achievements and original works to the community.

After two years of full time study, or more for part time students, they are approaching the completion of their studies. Students will be showing the broad range of their talents at the exhibition between the 20th November and the 6th December 2009.

Many of the students will soon be graduating and will branch out into the creative industries in the Visual Arts, Graphic Design, Jewellery Making and Multi Media fields.

Each year the exhibition offers something new as many students explore their own themes or special interests within their fields.

The GOTAFE Arts Department represents a major opportunity for arts training in regional Victoria. Very few Arts courses at the Diploma level are offered outside the metropolitan area. GOTAFE Art and Design represents a significant training opportunity for those seeking employment and career opportunities in the Design and Cultural area.

GOTAFE Art and Design courses attract a wide range of students, from those fresh out of school embarking on their first career path, to mature age students from all ages undertaking training for a range of reasons. Some students are looking to enhance skills to support careers already established in the arts, while other students are looking for a new career in a field life has not allowed them the opportunity to pursue earlier. GOTAFE Art and Design trainers are industry qualified, professional and supportive ensuring they can cater for a wide range of students and different learning styles.

Exit '09 will open November 19th, 2009 at 5.30 pm at the Wangaratta Exhibitions gallery, Ovens street Wangaratta.
