GOTAFE student Plumbing Apprentice of the Year

One of GOTAFE's plumbing students has gained the distinction of winning the 2008 DUX Victorian Apprentice Plumber of the Year award.

Andrew McCarthy, from Baddaginnie near Benalla, was recently notified of his success in the prestigious industry award.

Andrew works in his family's plumbing business with his father and younger brother. He attended the William Orr Campus in Shepparton for his off-the-job training throughout his apprenticeship.

Andrew recently returned to GOTAFE to study advanced plumbing to enable him to become a licensed plumber.
