GOTAFE restaurant now open Thursday nights

Shearer's Restaurant at GOTAFE’s Seymour Campus is now open for dinner every Thursday night for the next seven weeks. Each week, students will prepare and serve a menu featuring food found in different regions of the world.

GOTAFE Commercial Manager for Hospitality, Ross Graham said the students have progressed really  well in a short timeframe.

"The students undertaking Certificate II Hospitality started the course mid year and have already completed several   meal services," said Ross.

"These realife restaurantstyleservicesenable students to  learn the  intracacies  of  the hospitality industry and fine tune their skills under the  guidance of experienced  GOTAFE  trainingstaff.                                                 

"The restaurant menu is being prepared by Certificate II in Kitchen Operations, these budding chefs started the year with GOTAFE in March this year and have been busily practising and developing their skills over the past six months.

"The student chefs are showing great passion and perseverance whilst enjoying the challenge of cooking a different menu every week.

"From August to October the hospitality and kitchen students will prepare and serve food from all corners of the world including Mexico, Japan, America and Britain these varied menus will challenge their culinary and service skills.”
