The annual Baking Industry Association of Victoria (BIAV) competition was held during March at GOTAFE’s Fryers Street campus with bakers travelling from across Victoria and interstate to compete for several prizes including the national title of Australia’s Best Hot Cross Bun.

Katherine Black was announced as Seymour Campus 2012 Outstanding Student of the Year, on Tuesday March 26, 2013.

Horticulture students Len Ingram, Luke Commisso and GOTAFE trainer Karen Rogers were awarded first, second and third place in the TAFE section of the Great Victorian Hanging Basket Competition.



In 2013, for the first time, two students shared GOTAFE’s pinnacle award for graduating students. The winners of the 2012 GOTAFE Shepparton Campus Outstanding Student of the Year award were Claire Greenwood and Aaron Palmer.

Tobie Puttock kicked off GOTAFE Covers Restaurant’s first master class for 2013 in Shepparton on Tuesday, March 26. More than 100 guests were treated to a five course menu prepared and served by GOTAFE students under the guidance of Tobie.
