Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE Logo Design
The logo has two main parts:
The Symbol
The symbol consists of a stylised compass, representing geographical diversity. Two converging arrows are also discernible, representing common aims and partnership. Thirdly the ellipses combine with the compass/arrows to form graphical figures, symbolising people and the community.
The type
Goulburn Ovens is set in Matrix Book and Institute of TAFE in Meta Plus Normal.
Both modern typefaces, they echo elements of the symbol to make a cohesive logo.
The colors were chosen to reflect the corporate and community aspects of the institute. The blue is a strong corporate color which is accented by the orange.
The logo was designed after an extensive visual audit of existing material.
The first aim was to reflect the institute's ongoing commitment to people, whether that be students, staff, business partners or the community.
Secondly, we needed to reflect the Institute's diversity, both geographically and in terms of the wide variety of courses offered.
